ACMH Hospital’s SNU is a short-stay, hospital-based skilled nursing unit. While operating under a specific skilled nursing (long-term care) license, the location within the hospital facilitates physician involvement and affords easier access to medical testing and emergency medical support than a community-based skilled nursing facility can offer.
The SNU accepts referrals from ACMH Hospital and, as bed availability permits, from other hospitals if the patient’s physician is on staff at ACMH. A physician must certify the medical necessity for a SNU admission. Physicians see SNU residents as frequently as needed but not necessarily on a daily basis.
The SNU is located on the second floor of ACMH Hospital near the dining room. Take elevators from the hospital’s main lobby to the second floor and turn left.
