On Saturday, November 9th, ACMH RN Philip Green was awarded the 2024 Cameos of Caring award at a gala reception in Pittsburgh, PA. Members of ACMH Hospital executive and management teams joined Philip and members of his family to celebrate the accomplishment.

The Cameos of Caring® Program & Awards Gala, sponsored by the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing, was initially conceived as a tribute to outstanding bedside nurses in acute care hospitals. It has evolved into a broader celebration of excellence across the diverse realms of nursing. Extending its reach beyond bedside care, the program now recognizes achievements in areas such as research and education.

Philip Green is a Staff Nurse and member of the Critical Care Float team in the ICU and ED at ACMH Hospital in Kittanning, PA. His career started in Imaging, which lead him to want a bigger role in helping others. Philip graduated Suma Cum Laude with an Associate Degree in Nursing from Butler County Community College where he was named Nursing Student of the Year for 2022 by the Butler County Healthcare Consortium. Philip has also earned an RTR in Nuclear Medicine, and a BSN in Nursing and Medical Imaging.

Looking back, Philip says he chose to become a nurse because he wanted to be able to help people in some of their worst times. While growing up, much of Philip’s family worked at ACMH hospital. His grandmother was a charge nurse, and both his mom and his dad were imaging technologists. Philip credits time spent with his grandmother as sparking his interest in nursing. One of the most significant accomplishments of Philip’s early career was when he served on the team who cared for one of the first patients with Covid-19 in Pittsburgh at UPMC Presby. This was just after his graduation, and he recalls that it was rewarding to be placed in such a high profile position. Since joining ACMH, Philip has been a strong advocate for the nursing profession and is active in joining committees and helping to bring new information on the field to light.
